TIME
It has been on my mind a lot lately. Time is ever moving, never slowing down, and never technically speeding up, but it sure feels like it.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to take time with my clients - to stop time for them really. I get a glimpse into their life for those short minutes we are together and then I freeze tiny moments that *feel* big. Moments of love displayed in a kiss, a laugh, the touch of a hand or an embrace are captured so they can be put on display for a long time to come.
As I spent an hour with the Blievernicht extended family I was struck again by another aspect of time. What am I doing with it? I looked through the lens at this beautiful collection of people and was in awe of the legacy that they are. The way that "Pa" and "B" have raised four children, cultivating within them a deep love and affection for each other, while being a shining example of marriage and parenthood that has stood the test of time, is inspiring to me. I think you will see it too!
One last thing on my mind about time was starting this blog. I always make excuses about not having enough energy or time to devote to writing a blog, but honestly, I've just not made it a priority. As I sat editing these sweet family photos though, suddenly I realized that while time is short and life is busy, slowing down to capture and appreciate these special moments is worth it. I love capturing the bonds between people, the personalities of individuals and the legacy each family is creating in this world, and I feel that your captured memories have something to speak into this life. Your images represent you. They represent what you value and who you are. They represent moments of your time.
Thank you for the privilege of sharing your time with me.
