Do you require a deposit?
-Yes. To hold a date for your session I will require a non-refundable deposit equal to 20% of your package price. Should an emergency occur I will be glad to reschedule your shoot one time.
When will we take photos?
- Photography is like painting with light. Besides your beautiful faces, light is perhaps the most important component of an excellent photo. That being said, there are special times of day when the light just "works." These times are usually within an hour and a half window of both sunrise and sunset. Hopefully, we will be able to schedule your session inside one of these windows of opportunity. Also, because my full time job privilege is keeping my children alive all day, we will most likely schedule your shoot during evenings or weekends.
What locations are best?
- Locations that mean the most to you are always best! Well, that and locations with lots of lovely light. Outdoor photos at parks or in places of architectural interest are fantastic, but an indoor shoot at your home or favorite place (i.e. cafe, restaurant, stable, school, library, mall etc) can be wonderful too. Let's plan to find a location that will bring out the best in you and your family.
When should I arrive?
- This is IMPORTANT! Please arrive 15 minutes prior to our session start time. We don't want to miss the light and sometimes children and others will need a little while to warm up to the camera (or take a potty break).
When will I receive my edited photos?
-I strive to have all edited files delivered to you within two weeks.
May I have all of the digital files (even the unedited ones)?
-In short, no. I'm sorry to disappoint, but photos that do not live up to my high standards are deleted upon import. I will choose the absolute best images from your session to spend time editing and perfecting. I will then upload these files to your gallery for viewing and downloading (at minimum, the number stated in your contract and any extras I just couldn't pass up). Extras will be watermarked and you will have the option to purchase them in addition to the files included in your package.
What should I wear?
-This is such a great question that I get asked so often. I usually advise clients to keep with the style that fits their regular attire (you want to look like yourself right?) while trying to coordinate with each other. I recommend picking a color palette that flatters your skin and helps set the tone for the type of photos you are looking for (i.e. light colors and lightweight fabrics for light and airy or deep colors for moodier photos). I love taking one person's shirt or dress and using its color palette as the base for the rest of the family. Click here to be taken to my pinterest board for some inspiration!
Do I need to bring anything?
-Nope! However, if there are any props you'd like in the photos, like neat furniture pieces or signs, let me know and we can plan to incorporate those. **For senior photos I recommend bringing one or two items that represent the interests and talents you are known for.**
